The Bible always reflects reality
By Jim Fletcher
It’s almost shocking how accurate Scripture is. Most of the world doesn’t realize this. I’m not even sure the evangelical community realizes it. As an aside, it seems that biblical discernment in this country is at an all-time low.
In any case, if you look at the Bible and then look at the world, you’ll know what’s really going on. Now, I don’t mean that we can use Bible prophecy to date-set, but we can have a general map that tells us where we are. It’s actually fun to listen to men, then check their views with Scripture. For example, let’s say some men tell us that revival is getting ready to break out globally. Yet, if we go to the Bible, we find the bleaker reality that apostasy will rule until Christ returns. That way, we know that if 100 celerity pastors and ministries are touting revival, and the Bible tells us otherwise, we can be sure we have the right answer.
One big way we know where things are headed is in the way countries treat Israel. God tells us explicitly in Joel 3:2 just what He intends to do with nations that come against Israel.
I will gather all the nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat.
I will enter into judgment with them there regarding My people and My heritage Israel,
whom they have scattered among the nations; they have also divided up My land.
Notice how detailed this brief passage is. All nations. Judgment. And the nations divided the Land of Israel.
I wouldn’t want to be them!
In 1492, Spain kicked its Jewish citizens out of the country. Spain then ceased to be a world power. The country has never really learned its lesson: not yet, at least. Now, Spain is expressing hostility to the Jewish state:
“MADRID, April 9 (Reuters) - Spain decried Israeli strikes on Lebanon as well as the broader war on Iran on Thursday, cementing Madrid's role as an outspoken critic of the U.S. and Israeli military campaigns despite U.S. threats to punish uncooperative NATO allies.”
Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares bared his fangs:
“He accused Israel of violating international law and the newly brokered two-week ceasefire after a massive wave of airstrikes across Lebanon killed more than 250 people on Wednesday.”
Why is this critically important? Because the Bible tells us that one day, Israel will literally be alone among the nations.
“For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem for battle. The city will be captured and the houses plundered and the women ravished. Half of the city will go to exile, but the remainder of the people will not be cut off from the city. Then the Lord will go out and fight those nations as He fights in the day of war. On that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is to the east of Jerusalem.” (Zechariah 14:2-4)
We do not believe that today, just as passengers on the Titanic did not think the collision was bad enough to leave the ship. Many died that night because they wouldn’t get into a lifeboat. Likewise, we sometimes don’t believe Scripture. That’s very different from the Bible being wrong.
Today, there is some intriguing support for Israel. Uganda, of all countries, has pledged military support for the Jewish state. Hungary, lately under Viktor Orban, was very supportive of Israel. He just lost an election, though. The U.S. has always been almost an unusual support for Israel, but Jew-hatred has sprouted like weeds out of control. There is more troubling news, from Europe:
Liza Rosen posted this on X on April 14:
“A colossal mistake: One of Israel’s closest European allies has just surrendered to the globalist left’s pressure. Giorgia Meloni, who once positioned herself as a strong friend of Israel, has shamefully suspended the automatic renewal of the defense agreement with the Jewish State. In a pathetic display of weakness, Italian politics has chosen cheap leftist appeasement over truth, loyalty, and strategic reality. This betrayal will not be forgotten. When Israel needed real allies the most, Meloni folded like a cheap suit under the weight of globalist left-wing pressure. Political expediency has triumphed over principle — and history will remember exactly who stabbed Israel in the back at the moment of truth.”
Meloni’s moral weakness is hard to watch. Europe is in the grip of a weird, leftist-Muslim monster. I don’t see any way the Continent survives.
And no one will survive intact opposing Israel.
The Bible tells me so.
