A Historic Operation with Prophetic Significance
In what is being described by senior defense officials as one of the most strategically precise and far-reaching operations in Israeli military history, and very likely in world history according to numerous international military experts.
Israel launched ‘Operation Rising Lion’—a multi-phase offensive targeting Iran’s nuclear and military infrastructure. More than 20 top Iranian nuclear scientists and military commanders have been eliminated, nuclear enrichment facilities in Natanz and Fordow have been decimated, and key ballistic missile launch sites neutralized.
The alleged tensions between President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also had apparent coordination, understanding of strategies and strategic cooperation.
This was preceded by President Donald Trump’s warning 62 days ago that Iran had 60 days to reach a nuclear agreement or suffer the consequences. On the 61st day, Israel struck. This isn’t coincidence—it’s coordination. U.S. forces have provided intelligence support and regional reinforcement. The Pentagon has reportedly moved 20,000 missile defense systems into key strategic locations across the Middle East. The Jerusalem Post reported that Britain is moving additional military assets, including fighter jets, to the Middle East to provide support across the region, Prime Minister Keir Starmer told reporters on Saturday as he was en route to a Group of Seven meeting in Canada.
This military action is also prophetic in nature. It mirrors the warning in Jeremiah 49:35–39: “Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might… I will bring disaster upon them… I will set My throne in Elam.” Elam, the ancient region which is now southwest Iran, has long been associated with Persia and modern-day Iranian territory.
Iran’s Military: The Threat That Never Was
Despite its constant threats, Iran’s actual military capabilities are severely limited. Their air force relies on obsolete 1970s-era aircraft. Their navy is largely symbolic, composed of speedboats and coastal patrols. Their strength lies in proxies—Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in Gaza, and the Houthis in Yemen.
Iran’s primary goal has been nuclear. Former IRGC Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani declared repeatedly that Israel must be erased from the map before he was assassinated at the Bagdad International Airport January 3, 2020 . Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei has spoken of the ‘final war’ to destroy Zionism. Iran’s late president, Ebrahim Raisi, who died in a helicopter crash, echoed the same.
These declarations echo Psalm 83, which speaks of nations that conspire, saying: ‘Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more’ (Psalm 83:4).
How Obama’s Nuclear Deal Fueled This Crisis
In 2015, the Obama administration pushed through the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), also known as the Iran nuclear deal. This was not a treaty ratified by Congress, but an executive agreement. Billions in sanctions relief and cash were delivered to Iran. Those funds were funneled to terror networks. And an estimated $100 billion plus in new revenue after President Joe Biden eliminated or reduced sanctions on Iran that President Trump had put in place in his first term from 2017 t0 2021.
According to Israeli military sources, the deal allowed Iran to build an extensive infrastructure of terror—150,000 rockets and 15,000 missiles for Hezbollah, tens of thousands of rockets in Gaza, and ongoing uranium enrichment despite inspections.
The Rise of a New Middle East—and Israel’s Central Role
Ironically, one of the unintended outcomes of the Obama-era Iran deal has been a growing alliance on military intelligence between Israel and Sunni Arab nations. As one senior Israeli media government official told me: 'If it weren’t for Obama’s Iran deal, we would never have worked so closely with the Saudis, the Emiratis, and the Bahrainis, they know that we are not a threat to them, that Shiite Iran is their greatest threat.'
Israel now shares strategic cooperation with the UAE, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, and even Saudi Arabia. Ezekiel 38:11 speaks of a time when Israel will dwell securely—this may be a prelude. But Ezekiel’s prophecy continues: a massive coalition led by Gog will eventually invade Israel from the north.
This period of peace will be fragile, enforced by Israel’s overwhelming military superiority. Is this the ‘calm before the storm’ described in Ezekiel 38 and 39?
Approaching the Covenant of Daniel 9:27
As regional conflicts settle, attention will turn to diplomatic resolutions. Daniel 9:27 foretells a seven-year covenant made by a coming world leader—the Antichrist. 'He will confirm a covenant with many for one seven; in the middle of the seven he will put an end to sacrifice and offering.'
Halfway through this seven year period, this leader will desecrate the Third Temple in Jerusalem, proclaim himself to be God, and trigger the Great Tribulation—a time of unprecedented global suffering (Matthew 24:21).
This agreement will likely be endorsed by a false prophet (Revelation 13:11–18). We are drawing nearing to this period as political and religious alliances form rapidly.
The Stage Is Being Set
This is a time of historic shaking. Operation Rising Lion is not merely a military campaign—it is a seismic prophetic turning point. The alliances forming, the enemies falling, the prophecies aligning.
We are not just observers—we are watchmen. As Jesus said in Luke 21:28, 'When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.'
