Is the United States Responsible for the Destruction of Babylon? (Bill Koenig and Yacov Rambsel)

November 11, 2002
On February 18 of this year I was having breakfast in Nashville with John McTernan, co-author with me of “Israel: The Blessing or the Curse,” just before leaving for the National Religious Broadcasters Convention. John told me he felt the Lord had shown him that the Isaiah 13: 4-6 “kingdoms of nations” that “come from a far country, from the end of heaven,” to destroy Babylon, is the United States (with possible support from Britain).
I thought John’s conclusion presented a possibility, since there had been a lot of talking in the previous ten days about Iraq, even to the extent that both US President George W. Bush and Britain’s Prime Minister Tony Blair had both stated that week they would use nuclear weapons offensively in Iraq if necessary.
Out of curiosity, I called Yacov Rambsel ( click here ), the world’s premier Bible Code expert, who does his extensive research with paper, pencil, a calculator, and the original Hebrew Masoretic Bible, to see if he would do some research of Isaiah 13. He said he would check his files, do some calculations, and get back with me later that day. He called me back a few hours later with his findings. He said the findings were extraordinary. I have posted some of Yacov’s findings below.
Interestingly, after speaking to Yacov I went to our web site (http://watch.org) and our top news headline in the early afternoon was a front-page article from the Washington Times stating that President Bush would use nuclear weapons offensively if necessary in Iraq.
I felt three apparent confirmations in one day was substantial and worthy of watching more carefully in the days ahead.
Now, nine months later, the world focus is on Iraq. The US Congress has authorized President Bush to go to war with Iraq. The UN Security Council last Friday approved unanimously a resolution demanding that Iraq permit weapons inspections and warning of the consequences of noncompliance. While a second resolution is needed to endorse a war, the resolution has sufficient ambiguity to justify most U.S. plans.
President Bush has stated that if Saddam Hussein rids himself of his weapons of mass destruction, the US will not go to war with Iraq; if Saddam doesn’t comply, then there will be a war.
Also, if in fact this scripture talks about the US, will the nukes be used offensively or defensively to destroy the whole land? If defensively, will this be in response to an attack against our soldiers or to our homeland?
We will watch the events closely in the weeks and months ahead to see in fact if the United States is the far away country, from the end of heaven, that destroys Babylon just before the day of the Lord.
Isaiah 13: 1-6 (KJV)
The Doom of Babylon Predicted
1 The burden against Babylon which Isaiah the son of Amoz saw. Lift up a banner on the high mountain, Raise your voice to them; Wave your hand, that they may enter the gates of the nobles. I have commanded My sanctified ones;
I have also called My mighty ones for My anger-- Those who rejoice in My exaltation. The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the LORD of hosts mustereth the host of the battle. They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the LORD, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land. Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as destruction from the Almighty.
Note: Isaiah 13:6 says when the whole land is destroyed the Day of the Lord will be at hand. Many Bible scholars believe the Day of the Lord is the final seven-year tribulation period. A few believe the Day of the Lord is the final three and a half years.

Equidistant Letter Sequence Codes Explained
The codes found in the original Hebrew Masoretic Bible are called “ELS” codes which stands for "Equidistant Letter Sequence."
In Yacov’s following study, an ELS interval of +16 produced the Hebrew word for "war" (every sixteenth letter to the right, starting with the first letter of the code, which is "w") in three 16 letter intervals.
For example, the code began with the letter "w," proceeded right to the sixteenth letter which was the letter “a,” it then proceeded another sixteen letters to the right and the letter “r,” forming the Hebrew word for “war.” This word pattern repeated itself again, and again.
The Hebrew word for Egyptian -9 means that eight, nine letter intervals to the left produced Egyptian. The word pattern then repeated itself, again and again.
Here are the codes Yacov Ramsel found in Isaiah 13: 2-6:
